Job Overview:
We are seeking a talented and experienced Group Health Insurance Actuary to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in actuarial consulting, extensive experience in group health insurance, proficiency in programming in SQL, and the ability to create impactful data visualizations. As a key member of our team, you will collaborate with clients and colleagues to provide strategic insights, develop predictive models, and contribute to the growth and success of our consulting services.
Responsibilities:

Lead actuarial consulting projects focused on group health insurance, including pricing, reserving, financial forecasting, and risk analysis.

Collaborate with clients to understand their business objectives and provide expert guidance on insurance product development and risk management strategies.

Utilize your programming skills to develop and maintain actuarial models, data manipulation processes, and automation tools to streamline analyses.

Proficiently use SQL to extract, manipulate, and analyze complex datasets from various sources to support actuarial assessments and decision-making.

Employ data visualization tools to create clear and insightful reports, dashboards, and presentations that effectively communicate findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Stay updated with industry trends, regulatory changes, and advancements in actuarial science to ensure our consulting services remain cutting-edge and compliant.

Mentor and collaborate with junior team members, offering guidance and knowledge sharing to enhance their professional development.

Contribute to business development efforts by participating in client meetings, proposal writing, and identifying opportunities for expanding our service offerings.
Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.

Relevant certifications (FSA or ASA).

10+ years of progressive experience as a Group Health Insurance Actuary, preferably in a consulting environment.

Strong proficiency in actuarial concepts and methodologies related to group health insurance, including pricing, underwriting, and risk assessment.

Demonstrated experience in programming languages such as Python, R, or similar, with the ability to develop and maintain actuarial models and automate processes.

Proficiency in SQL for data manipulation and analysis purposes.

Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, etc.) to effectively convey complex insights.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to present complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
